"I would like to nominate Brandon Thompson for recognition of his exceptional contributions to SouthernTech's cybersecurity efforts. Brandon's dedication, quick response time, and deep knowledge of cybersecurity have significantly enhanced our ability to protect our sensitive information and the privacy of our staff, students and their contacts. There have been several phishing emails received by staff that were found to be very real threats.
Specifically, Brandon has demonstrated the following qualities:
- Swift Response: Brandon consistently responds to cybersecurity incidents in a timely manner, mitigating potential risks and minimizing damage.
- Extensive Knowledge and Skills: His expertise in cybersecurity is evident in his ability to identify and address vulnerabilities, as well as his proactive approach to preventing attacks.
- Protecting Our Contacts: Brandon went above and beyond to ensure that the contacts in an employee's address book were not compromised during a recent email security incident.
- Safeguarding Our Network: By monitoring other employees' email boxes, Brandon helped to identify and prevent phishing attempts, protecting both our staff and our customers from potential harm.
- Training and Education: Brandon's commitment to raising cybersecurity awareness is evident in his efforts to provide training to our staff. The positive impact of this training is reflected in our most recent accreditation results.
Brandon's exceptional work has made a significant contribution to SouthernTech's overall security posture. I strongly believe that he deserves to be recognized for his outstanding achievements."
