Diesel Technology
Description
The Diesel program gives students the skills to perform basic service and maintenance on a wide variety of trucks
and buses. In this program, students learn about preventative maintenance, inspections, regulations, and documentation of services. While in the shop, students gain hands-on experience in electrical, brake, steering, hydraulics and ventilation system diagnosis. They also have many opportunities to problem solve and fix system malfunctions. The hours completed in this program are aligned with Automotive Service Excellence (ASE)/ National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) standards, and students will have an opportunity to earn industry recognized ASE certifications.

Applicants must complete a SouthernTech Application for Admission. Additional information and applications are
available at the SouthernTech campus and online at www.sotech.edu. Enrollment for this program is open to adults and partnering High Schools (juniors/seniors).
Financial Aid and Scholarships
This program is not yet approved for Federal Financial Aid; Payment Plans and Scholarships may be available.
