Purpose of Job:
In accordance with policies and procedures, current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing SouthernTech, to provide guidance, supervision and direction to assigned staff as per the approved organizational chart, to supervise new program development & current curriculum, including evaluation of applicable new technology, and to coordinate school wide quality initiatives. Serve as the acting chief administrator at the request of or in the absence of the Superintendent
Major Duties, Tasks, and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Supports and promotes the SouthernTech adopted quality initiatives including the Baldrige criteria, Oklahoma Quality Award Foundation criteria, Tech Centers That Work, and Lean Office.
- Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continuous improvements in services to customers.
- Supports and assists in the development and execution of the SouthernTech strategic plan.
- Coordinate school wide quality initiatives and the quality initiative team.
- Administration - to provide guidance/supervision/direction to personnel as assigned according to the approved organizational chart. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assist Human Resource with making professional development available to all staff members.
- Assist program directors with their evaluation of their assigned instructional programs and staff.
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures for employees and students.
- Calendar coordination.
- Lead District Accreditation efforts
- Oversee the Coordination/Supervision of the following Student Services activities:
- Enrollment/Recruitment for Secondary and Post-secondary
- Testing Center
- Services to students with disabilities
- Full Time Academic Programs
- Full Time Academic On-Line Programs
- Substitutes for Instructors
- Support Program Directors in managing and resolving student conflict
- AP & embedded credit coordination
- Support program Directors in TCTW coordination
- Student Handbook
- Annual Student Orientation
- Oversee the Coordination & supervision the following systems:
- Communications for all partner school Principals
- Departmental Recordkeeping
- Departmental Budget
- Student Records:
- Student Attendance
- Student Discipline
- Student Information System
- Oversee the maintenance of Career Advising Standards
- Work with Marketing Coordinator to identify, apply & administer grants.
- Student Appeals
- Oversee the development & maintenance of Student Service Action Plan
- Supervise and provide instructional leadership to programs, instructors, coordinators, and office staff.
- Work closely with the program directors and other administrators in providing necessary support for the proper development of their plans and programs.
- Administer budgets for assigned departments, federal programs, CTSO travel and special projects.
- Partnerships:
- provide timely, specific information related to full-time programs/student services to partner high schools
- Present programs to various outside organizations.
- Establish and maintain Advisory Committee for Student Services
- Assist Program Directors with development and evaluation of individual program advisory committees.
- Represent the Superintendent in his absence as a liaison between the school district, partner schools and all communities served.
- New Program Development: Research, development and implementation of new programs including curriculum, facilities, funding, staff/certification, budget, accreditation issues, state department approval, etc.
Secondary Duties, Tasks, Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance to other specialists.
- Serve on various SouthernTech and other committees.
- Supervision and Evaluation of direct reports as established by the approved organization chart in accordance with SouthernTech procedures.
Other:
- Perform other duties, assume responsibilities, and exercise other authority as may be required or directed upon by law or the Superintendent of SouthernTech.
- Operate on behalf of the Superintendent during his/her absence.
- Has signature authority during Superintendent’s absence.
Authority of the Position:
- Authority to use discretion, judgment, and knowledge according to federal and state law, school policy, and administrative regulations, by assignment and approval of the District Superintendent.

Education, Knowledge, Skill, & Experience Requirements:
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Education required.
- Must possess Superintendent’s Certification or be able to obtain it by the first of the upcoming school year.
- Career Tech Administration Certification.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ s experience in a Career Technology Center as a teacher, administrator or supervisor of an approved Career Tech program.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in technical education administration.
- Relevant State certifications.
- Knowledge of technical and management training, Rigorous Curriculum Design, research, grant writing, project management, needs analysis, budgeting and other subjects as they relate to administering a department dedicated to business development.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Working knowledge of computerized office programs, Oklahoma School Law, federal and state laws, and the SouthernTech education system.
- Function as an effective SouthernTech team player.
- Ability to function professionally during high stress situations.
- Ability to implement, facilitate, and complete multiple projects in a timely and efficient manner.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Sit for extended periods.

- Vision: Close and distance vision required.
- Be able to communicate.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

- Ability to implement, facilitate, and complete multiple projects in a timely and efficient manner.
- Must be able to legally and properly drive a SouthernTech vehicle on school business as required.
- Occasionally required to lift up to 25 lbs.
Work Environment:
Primarily an office environment; occasionally walking or working near moving mechanical equipment, fumes or airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions. Occasional out of state/district overnight travel is required.
