The Cosmetology program prepares students to become licensed cosmetologists who provide nail, skin, scalp, and hair care to customers to help them enhance their personal appearance. Students receive classroom instruction and hands-on training in hair styling, cutting, and coloring. Included are manicures, pedicures, facials, lash and brow tinting and arching, and scalp treatments along with customer service and shop management. To obtain state licensing, students must complete 1500 hours of instruction and pass the Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology and Barbering written and practical exam.

Applicants must complete a SouthernTech Application for Admission. Additional information and applications are available at the SouthernTech campus and online by visiting our Student Portal (please create an account prior to showing interest or applying by clicking the blue Sign In button). Enrollment for this career program is open to adults and in-district High Schools (juniors/seniors).
