Motorcycle Safety

SouthernTech’s motorcycle safety training,

provided in accordance with rules, regulations, and requirements of the Motorcycle Safety Foundation, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, and the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office provide students with the training necessary to operate a motorcycle or scooter safely.  After completion of this course, students may test for their “M”, or motorcycle, endorsement.

Requirements

Student MUST provide his/her own:

  • Helmet (DOT or SNELL approved)
  • Eye protection
  • Sturdy over-the-ankle footwear
  • Long-sleeved shirt or jacket
  • Sturdy long pants (no holes or thin spots)
  • Full-fingered gloves.

No need to bring your motorcycle because SouthernTech provides motorcycles for all participants. The entire class takes place at our own closed-course riding range at 2610 Sam Noble Parkway in Ardmore.

5-hours of online training is required prior to the start of class. Online course links will be sent out 10-14 days prior to the start of class. Students must bring a copy of your completion certificate with you to the first day of class.

Students must attend ALL course hours and range exercises as attendance is required for successful completion of this class.

Students 14-18 years old, must have a parent/guardian attend the first session to sign a waiver.

Successful completion of this class will waive the written and driving portion at the DMV for those over the age of 18.
