Welding
Description
Students will learn to cut and weld metal, including how to perform Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), and Oxy-fuel Cutting (OFC). Students will perform fillet and groove welds in all positions using different electrodes, three modes of transfer, and gas-shielded wire. Students learn welding and shop safety and are introduced to welding symbols, blueprints, and industry mathematics. Students have the opportunity to become state-certified welders.

Enrollment for this career program is open to adults and in-district High Schools (juniors/seniors).
