Why take an assessment?
Certification is in increasing demand in all industries. More and more employers are looking at certification to assess whether an individual possesses the skills and knowledge required for successful performance in a particular job role. Employers want to hire the best qualified individual who will make a positive contribution to quality patient care.
By becoming certified in your field of expertise, and by maintaining that certification year after year, you show your employer that you:
- Have met standards that have been established and verified by a third-party organization
- Are dedicated to maintaining quality and competency in your work on a regular basis
These are powerful statements that speak volumes about you as a professional. Certification indeed demonstrates to your employer, and to the public, that you are committed to your profession and that you want to continue to learn and grow.
The Assessment Center supports Southern Tech's strategic goals by administering certification, licensure, entry-level testing, skills and competency exams to our clients.
Our customers have access to a full range of assessments including testing to determine classroom readiness for career programs, health certification testing, industry certification testing, end of instruction competency testing, and Career Tech Student Organization state and national competition.
The assessment center is only open 8am-4pm Monday-Friday. All tests must be scheduled 24-48 hours in advance. Contact Lyndsey Wallace at 580-224-8202 to schedule your appointment.
Certification testing is available to the public in some areas. Please contact the Assessment Center for more information.
Cell phones and other electronic devices are not allowed in the assessment center. If you bring any items with you they must be handed over to the proctor and put in a storage locker until testing is complete.
